The plain-English version.
Virgil asks you to share things that matter. Here is what actually happens with what you share.
Your words stay yours. We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. No AI models are trained on what you shared with us.
If you talk instead of type, your voice becomes text in your own browser. When you choose to dictate, your browser's built-in speech recognition (Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari) converts your speech to text. That audio goes to your browser's maker — never to us. We only ever receive the words, and you can always type instead.
You can delete your data from our system at any time. There is a button at the bottom of your Love Map to do so directly, or you can email support@liberate.love and we'll delete your transcripts from our system immediately. No penalty, no judgment.
If you're ever in crisis, we point you to real help. 988, Crisis Text Line, 911. We will never pretend we can be that help ourselves. It would not be fair to you if we did.
Everything below is the longer, more careful version. You can ask us anything at support@liberate.love.
Humanity 2.0 LLC d/b/a Liberate.Love ("we," "us," "our") runs the Story Map interview and the other AI interviews offered on our platform. We wrote this Privacy Notice in plain English because the thing you're sharing with us deserves plain English in return.
This notice covers liberate.love, the app at map.liberate.love, and everything we do around the Story Map interview (and any other interview you take with us) and the written report it produces. Together we'll call these the "Services."
This is a reflective AI interview. This is not therapy, counseling, medical care, psychological assessment, or crisis support. Nothing we send you is a clinical diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice.
If you are in crisis, or considering harming yourself or someone else, please stop using the Services and reach someone who is trained to hold that:
We collect only what we need to run the Services well:
We use your information to:
What we don't do:
We use a small number of trusted providers to actually run the product. Here's the full list, current as of the date above:
| Who | What they do | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic, PBC | Runs the Claude AI that conducts the interview and writes the report | Your interview text during the session. Under our contract, they cannot use it to train their models. |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosts the app, the database, edge servers, and file storage | All of the application data, at rest and in transit. Industry-standard encryption throughout. |
| Stripe, Inc. | Processes your payment | Your name, email, and card details (collected directly by Stripe, not by us). |
| Resend | Delivers our transactional emails | Your email address and the message being sent. |
| PostHog | Basic product analytics on our marketing pages | Page views and simple usage events. Never runs on the interview or your report pages. |
Voice-to-text uses your own browser's speech recognition (Google, Apple, or Microsoft, depending on your browser). That's not a provider we contract with — it's built into your device — but you should know your spoken audio passes through them when you dictate. We never receive or store the audio.
If this list ever changes, we update this page. We'll never add a new kind of data-sharing without telling you.
The only other situations where we might share your information:
Your data is stored and processed in the United States. Some of our providers may handle data across regions. By using the Services, you understand and agree to that. We use Standard Contractual Clauses and similar safeguards where required.
We use Microsoft Clarity, a product-analytics tool from Microsoft, with session replay, on both the interview and your report page (the map we build for you). It helps us understand how people experience the conversation and read their map: where they pause, what they revisit, which sections they reach, where they stop, and what they click. These replays are not masked, so the words shown on your screen during the interview and on your map are part of the recording. We use this only to improve the interview, the map, and the experience around them. No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels across the web. On our marketing pages we use a small set of basic analytics to understand what's working, which we're consolidating to a single privacy-respecting tool (PostHog). If you disable cookies in your browser, the sign-in flow won't work, but there is nothing sinister happening.
Our retention policy is deliberately narrow, because what you share matters.
When we no longer have a reason to hold something, we delete it or deidentify it.
Encryption in transit (TLS). Encryption at rest. Access controls. Hashed passwords. Regular security review. We use the industry-standard tools and check our work.
No system is perfectly secure. If something were ever compromised, we'd tell you without delay, as required by law.
If you notice anything suspicious about your account, email us at support@liberate.love right away.
The Services are for adults. You have to be at least 18 to use them. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we ever find out we have, we delete it immediately. If you believe a minor has shared information with us, please let us know at support@liberate.love.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights under your local privacy law (California's CCPA/CPRA, Virginia's VCDPA, Colorado's CPA, Connecticut's CTDPA, Utah's UCPA, Texas's TDPSA, Oregon's OCPA, and others):
Email support@liberate.love from the address on your account. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the request. We'll respond within the time your state requires (generally 45 days).
If you live in California, you can ask us about any Personal Data we've shared with third parties for their own direct marketing. We haven't done that, but you're welcome to ask us anyway at support@liberate.love.
Because users share real emotional material in the interview, we have a defined Crisis Protocol. If our AI detects language suggesting an imminent risk of harm to yourself or someone else, here is exactly what happens:
Important things to understand about this protocol:
If your session is crisis-flagged, we keep that record for up to 7 years, encrypted and access-restricted, as a safety audit. We would only share it with our internal team, our lawyers, or — if the law compelled us to — with authorities.
For anything in this Privacy Notice, write to support@liberate.love.
